For those who are not keeping score at home, Pragmata is a new IP created by legendary developers Capcom. First announced in June 2020 (which you can see it’s debut trailer directly below) Pragmata fell into an dark, questionable existence.

Pragmata Announcement Trailer:

After this intriguing trailer the game went radio silent despite fans wanting more. It was not until November 2021 that Capcom finally released a statement saying “Our team is hard at work on the project, but to ensure this will be an unforgettable adventure, we’ve decided to shift the release window to 2023“. So what happened next? you guessed it, radio silence again.. until this years Xbox Showcase 2023 in which Capcom assured fans the game is still alive and well. Why not take a look at the newest trailer below:

Pragmata June 2023 Trailer:

Finally, after 3 long years, we get another trailer with snippets (if you wish to call them that at this point) of gameplay. Very reminiscent of Platinum Games Vanquish in fact which also had another character in a high tech suit. Hmmm, one could wonder.

In any case, the 2023 trailer shows a personal note from the developers stating that the 2023 release is no longer and gives an ambiguous release date of a question mark.

The game appears to be running on the RE engine ( Also known as the “Reach for the moon” engine) was originally created in 2014 during the development of Resident Evil 7, so there is no surprises that this engine is chosen to power this game. It’s Capcom’s own engine after all. But what is interesting is that in the short snippet of gameplay the game has come quite along. While a 2023 release is out of the question, it does look likely that this game is a 2024 release.
